As we enter these times of change, there are many emotions that we may have but do not share
We need to recognize change for what it is, not avoid it or step into it with despair

out in the unknown
forbidden territory
watch the stepping stones

tangled webs we weave
never knowing the pattern
makes difficult walks

light shows us the way
open  eyes for which to see
treading lightly now

A Voice
I speak to fairness
to hope, to dreams of kindness
Love, I speak to you

Dare To Live
love brighten your day
part the clouds and stop the rain
fill your heart with song

Beach Song ~ My Haiku For You

Sculpted porcelain shell by Kathleen S. Shattuck

long walks at seaside
hand in hand lovers
together prints left in sand

bright sun burns the skin
washed with cooling breeze
a tide rushes in

sandpipers laughter
seabirds lofty white wings soar
flight taken swiftly

songs sung by the sea
waves closure to perfect days
evening’s lullaby

Invited Summer ~ My Haiku For You

summer skies pristine
lakes and ponds teeming with life
meadow grasses green

birds soaring through trees
rolling hills reflecting light
Lupin blue as seas

hold your head up high
capturing bright floral scent
bees’ honey comes nigh

A New Day ~ My Haiku For You

resonating words
who is next to speak with love?
heard around the world

drowning angered souls
gift with everlasting love
only truth can live

stand tall on this day
standing brave in what you say
embrace. give. be strong.

The Little Girl Loved

Photograph by Kathleen S. Shattuck

The Little girl cried, the shell was gone and she sobbed, knowing her life was taken away at that moment.  She walked to the edge of the surf, the bubbles tickled her toes but she no longer giggled, she no longer laughed, she no longer thought about today or tomorrow, because today was gone, and tomorrow did not exist.

Love was a memory, a story, a rhyme, a fairy tale; love lingered and was lost; love grabbed at her heart and was tossed, tossed into the ocean to swim with the fish, then taken into the deep with the shells.

The little girl remembered, remembered once upon a time, a time when she was lost in a cave, when she was swimming in the river, when she made friends with the Wombat, the Bird and the Frog, when she had a family.

The little girl stepped into the waves and was swept back in time; remembering the times when she was loved, and she loved.  The shell took it all away from her, she loved it the most, and now it was gone.

A heart is but a fragile thing, it lingers and waits
The sea is but a tormentor, it rolls in on the tide, and takes
The little girl gave her heart a chance to love, she gave it away
a heart that waited and lingered, but all too long that day

Love and Life

Love happens, life goes on...
Love sneaks up behind you, life turns you around
Love corners, confronts, confounds, life faces reality

Life hitches a ride on the moon
Life searches the dark side, the light side
Life marches you through thick and thin

Love singles you out
Love is a choice
Love carries you away

Life brings you back

Love is a mystery
Love is a game
Love carries a weight

Life wants an answer

Come This Spring !~ My Haiku For You

Snows linger with cold
Sun lights up the fields with warmth
Seeds burst with flowers

Robin’s song is heard
Nests are built from twigs and straw
Little eggs are seen

Life goes on today
Seasons signal the newborn
Awaken the young!
